Who desires God’s blessings today? Let’s come together in His house for spiritual refreshment.
How lovely is Your tabernacle,
O Lord of hosts!
My soul longs, yes, even faints
For the courts of the Lord;
My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
Even the sparrow has found a home,
And the swallow a nest for herself,
Where she may lay her young—
Even Your altars, O Lord of hosts,
My King and my God.
Blessed are those who dwell in Your house;
They will still be praising You.
Selah
Blessed is the man whose strength is in You,
Whose heart is set on pilgrimage?
As they pass through the Valley of Baca,
They make it a spring;
The rain also covers it with pools.
They go from strength to strength;
Each one appears before God in Zion.
O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer;
Give ear, O God of Jacob!
Selah
God, behold our shield,
And look upon the face of Your anointed.
For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
The Lord will give grace and glory;
No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.
O Lord of hosts,
Blessed is the man who trusts in You! ~ Psalm 84 NKJV

Dear Heavenly Father, draw our hearts to You today in true worship. May we find rest and strength for our souls in Your house. Protect us in these days where wickedness dwells openly in the land. Give us Your grace, fill our lives with good things, and bless us with Your presence as we place our trust in You, our Redeemer and Lord. In Jesus’s Name, Amen.
Recently President Trump reminded us that freedom is a gift from God, not a gift from government. How very true. On Memorial Day, we honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom in the United States: courageous men and women who have answered the call to defend our nation by the power of…
By Karen Jurgens “The Lord said to Joshua, ‘See, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and valiant warriors’” ~ Joshua 6:2, NASB. During difficult times, how do we fight? By going to battle on our knees. Prayer is the most powerful weapon we have to come against the enemy, but we…
By Karen Jurgens Today we arrive in ancient Pergamum. Have you heard of it? An island city, it was located about 65 miles north of Smyrna in the Caicus River Valley. Renowned for its extensive library that was second only to Alexandria, most of its 200,000 volumes were written on costly sheepskin—marking this city as…
“The Lord said to Moses, ‘Say to the Israelites: “On the fifteenth day of the seventh month the Lord’s Festival of Tabernacles begins, and it lasts for seven days.”‘” Leviticus 23:33-34 NIV Welcome to the celebration of Sukkot, the Hebrew name for the Feast of Tabernacles or Booths. As the last of the fall feasts, this time climaxes into a joyous…
The dreaded disease has hit Dallas. Not just anywhere, either. The same Dallas hospital where my older daughter is interning in dietetics. What are the chances of that happening—going from Liberia to that very hospital? And what are the chances that it could keep spreading to other cities? How can we be protected? We can all…
A reminder each day is “… blessed is the man who trusts in You.” One of my favorite Psalms to reflect upon whom God is my friend. Thank you so much for sharing the blessings of His goodness and glory with me today.
It reminds me of the song, “‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His word…how I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er…oh for grace to trust Him more.” He is a wonderful Friend! Thanks, J.D. Have a blessed day of rest.
I would have to say the first 6 lines.
I’m on a new mission of praising and praying throughout the day. That includes every time I wake up and well.
This is my declaration that my thoughts will stay pure and hold my tongue. I’m even learning to filter out negative comments from my spouse.
Thank you for such an inspiring post.
What a noble mission, dear Sandra. You are truly an inspiration to me. Meditation on these psalms brings us new strength and encouragement every day. May the Lord bless you richly, sweet friend.
