My Bio

As a lifelong educator, Karen entered the field of Christian ministry in 2014. The Lord called her into this work over twenty years ago, and she answered His call after her retirement. Over the last nine years, she has published a novella about Christian marriage, A Perfect Fit, which you can order through Amazon. Also, she is a contributor and editor to several other books and Christian websites. Currently, she is writing a survey of the book of Revelation whose purpose is two-fold: to bring knowledge and encouragement to Christians who may not have read it; and to alert the lost about what will happen during the Tribulation.

Her prayer is that all who don’t know Christ will accept Him as Savior as they read the truth of God’s Word.

My Salvation Story

My story begins at the age of eight when I attended a summer church camp. That’s when I heard the message of salvation and realized my need for a Savior. I invited Jesus into my heart and began to grow in a personal relationship with Him. However, my parents changed churches during my teenage years, so my walk with the Lord paused until college.

After enrolling at Texas Christian University, I arrived at a crossroads of my faith. One sorority friend tried to sway me from my Christian beliefs, while my roommate persuaded me to join her Bible study group. Back in my hometown, I didn’t know that God was waking my pastor in the middle of the night to pray for me. Needless to say, the Holy Spirit drew me back to my childhood faith in Christ, and I have never looked back. Although raised in the Assembly of God denomination, I have been affiliated with the Baptist church since college and am currently a member of First Baptist in Dallas, Texas.

On a Personal Note

On a personal note, I never planned to end up as a single mother, but I’ve enjoyed that distinctive title for thirty years. I raised my two daughters, Meg and Cait, to be strong, Christian women. My mother, now 101 years-old, has been a widow for almost thirty years, and now I am her caregiver. Our family has always been very close-knit in our shared faith, and we enjoy spending lots of time together.

I love to cook gourmet French cuisine–mainly during holidays–as well as to walk, read the classics, and play word games. My latest aspiration is learning to be a golfer. Additionally, we have purchased the Kentucky family farm originally owned by my maternal great-grandparents. It is a joy and privilege to be caretakers for God’s holy ground where our family’s Christian roots were planted.

I wish you many blessings as we share the wonders of our Lord Jesus through my writing and books. You may contact me at KarenJurgens777@gmail.com.
